JCC Announces the Raymond E. Plotkin JCC Maccabi Games Tennis Scholarship
Raymond Plotkin began his Jewish journey at the Bertha Alyce Early Childhood Center and spent many happy years in the after-school care program. During middle school Raymond discovered a love of tennis and became a member of the JCC’s Maccabi Tennis Team. In 2009, Raymond was in his first semester at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque when he contracted the H1N1 flu virus. At just 18 years old, Raymond passed away from complications of the illness.
Raymond’s parents, Elaine and Ronald Plotkin, and Raymond’s brother, Jason and his wife, Aliza, have established the JCC Maccabi Games Tennis Scholarship in an effort to help other tennis players participate in the annual Maccabi Games. The Plotkin family hopes this scholarship honors the love that Raymond had for the JCC and the Maccabi Tennis Team. Read the full story...

JCC Executive Vice President Retires After Thirty-Eight Distinguished Years When you have traveled the same rewarding road for thirty-eight extraordinary years, it's hard to say goodbye. But that is the difficult decision Jerry Wische, Executive Vice President of the Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Houston, has made.
